Rod Carr
Rod Carr was the inaugural chair on NZ’s Climate Change Commission (2019-2024).
His early career was in banking and wealth management and then in Central Banking.
He chaired the board of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the National Infrastructure
Advisory Board and was Vice Chancellor of University of Canterbury (2009-2019).
In 2025 Rod became a Trustee of the Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust.
He has particular interest in the transition to low emissions energy and in
sustainable land use. Rod holds a PhD in Insurance and Risk Management.

Jenny Carr
Jenny brings a deeply personal commitment to climate action, rooted in her experience as a mother
raising environmentally conscious children and fostering a low-impact lifestyle at home. With a professional
background as a dietitian she is passionate about the connection between
personal health, food systems, and planetary well-being. As a trustee, Jenny offers grounded insight, strong
values, and a heartfelt dedication to creating a future that supports both people and the planet.
Sam Brosnahan
Sam Brosnahan is currently a KiwiSaver Product Manager with ANZ Investments, helping to manage New Zealand’s
largest KiwiSaver scheme. His career in banking also involved roles in Private, Business and Personal banking.
Prior to this, Sam was President of the University of Canterbury Students’ Association (2019). Sam is also a Trustee
on Life Education Trust Canterbury, which supports the health education needs of more than 20,000 children every year.
Sam holds a BCom in International Business and a BA in Chinese language.
